The main school was opened in 1975 as a one form entry i.e. seven classes. Since then the number of children attending Boringdon has doubled and we now have fourteen classes. There are eight classrooms in the main building for Years R, 1, 2 and 3, and Years 4, 5 and 6 are in our separate adjacent classroom buildings. The 'pods' provide these year groups with a complete teaching unit comprising classrooms, outside learning areas, group work-space, cloakrooms and toilets.

In the main building, there is a hall, used for assemblies, KS1 PE lessons and lunches, and a Computing Suite. The Admin Office, Headteacher’s and Business Manager’s offices and Staff Room are situated off the main entrance foyer. We have a small dedicated SEN area (The Oasis) where specialists and staff can provide additional support for our children. We have two playgrounds, outside quiet areas, a playing field and conservation area with a pond, within the school site.
In March 2020, our new hall and conference block was opened. This has been named 'The Mayflower' in celebration of Mayflower 400. It comprises the KS2 PE hall, conference room, toilets plus a small kitchen. The building of this was financed by government Condition Improvement Funding and has had an amazing positive impact on teaching an learning already. At the weekend, it is used by the community.
